Spring Cleaning Tips

We’ve been waiting on this time of the year for what feels like forever, but also sort of dreading spring cleaning. To make things a little more organized, fun and quick; here are some spring cleaning tips to help you get through it.

Spring Decor

Start on a happy note first! Play your favorite playlist and bring out the spring decor. Put away that winter decor you no longer want to look at. Open some windows and let the fresh air in.

Update Your Window Shades

If you are one that likes some light coming through your windows, but not so much that it’s blinding as you walk by it; try hanging some Easy Lift Light Filtering shades. If you prefer to block out the sun as much as possible to help keep it nice and cool inside, go for the Easy Lift Light Blocking or Blackout Shades. We offer these in cellular  or pleated material and you can pick between a white or natural color. With No Tools installation, you can hang these up in your windows in no time!

Bring Out The Clothes!

This part may not be very fun, but you can make it be! Pull all your winter clothes out of the closet and put aside any items you don’t think you’ll be wearing again next year. Then bag them up to donate. Bring out the spring/summer clothes and instead of hanging them in your closet right away, put together some different outfits you think will be cute and try it all on. This will help you out when you have no idea what to wear and it will also help you decide what you may not wear anymore so you can donate it too.

Cleaning Up

This is most likely the worst part about spring cleaning, but this can be saved! Start by making a list of what needs to be cleaned and write down each task on its own little piece of paper and put them all in a jar. Gather any participants (spouse/partner, kids, friends) and make it into a fun game! You can decide what reward/s they get. Then each person pulls out a task from the jar and they have to complete it before pulling out another task. Once there are no more tasks left, do a count of how many each person completed. Rewards can go to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place or there can be just one winner — whatever you prefer and think will be most fun!
