The adhesive on the brackets is designed for one-time use only, so it is important you select the exact location you want to install them before you peel the protective backing off of the adhesive. If you want to reuse the bracket you can purchase additional adhesive at most major retailers. You can then cut the adhesive to fit the bracket to reuse as needed.
